Michigan HERC is composed of a diverse group of public and private colleges and universities in Michigan that include research universities, doctoral and master’s institutions, affiliated medical schools and teaching hospitals, four-year colleges, and community colleges. Michigan HERC was established in 2007 as collaborative response of colleges and universities in Michigan to the many challenges of academic recruitment and retention. Michigan HERC’s core values are excellence and diversity in Michigan’s higher education workforce and the promotion of work/life balance through assistance to dual career couples.
