Inaugural Meeting - November 9, 2015HERC of the Carolinas Inauguration Meeting 2016 image

East Carolina University and our sponsoring partner institutions, Wake Forest University, Pitt Community College, NC Central University and Davidson College are delighted that so many campuses joined us for the HERC of the Carolinas Information and Launch Event.

The HERC of the Carolinas is poised for success as evidenced by the strong presence of North Carolina Higher Education representation at the Benson Center on the campus of Wake Forest University. When it comes to helping dual-career couples find jobs, developing diverse applicant pools, building relationships across the Carolina's, and engaging in a community focused on collaboration, leadership, innovation, and stewardship, we want to embrace the opportunity now for the higher education community to work together to advance our region.

As we learned from Nancy Aebersold, Founder and Executive Director of the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium; there is strength in numbers! Over 80 higher education leaders representing 45 North Carolina institutions attended the largest Regional Kickoff Event in HERC's 15 year history.

Representation included Higher Education professionals from the mountains to the coast that braved 100% chance of rain to make their way to this inaugural event. With a show of hands at the event, close to 90 percent of those in the room expressed a desire to be a part of the HERC of the Carolinas.
