  1. Resume strategies for college graduates

New college graduates need to emphasize how their education translates into marketable skills when they write their first resume, professional resume writer Marcia Hancock advises. 2. Why academics need a way to say no

Academics can effectively say no to requests for their time and commitment by suggesting someone else who may be able to help and creating their own guidelines for when to say no, writes Harvard University professor Robin Bernstein in this commentary. 4. Expedited election rules benefit unions

Labor unions won 72% of workplace elections in 2016, an increase of 13 percentage points since 2007, according to the National Labor Relations Board. Obama administration regulations that shortened the times between petitions and elections resulted in a drop in these periods as well, from 38 days in 2014 to 23 days in 2016.
