The nonprofit Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC) is teaming up with Google Search to make higher education jobs more accessible to talented and diverse professionals.

As a leading higher education job board, HERC was invited to participate in the pilot and launch of Google's improved job search experience. Starting today, people can quickly explore jobs, including HERC Jobs, from across the web in one place. This partnership aligns perfectly with our mission as a nonprofit consortium to make smart use of all resources to help our members attract the most talented and diverse professionals across the nation.

Working together, HERC’s member institutions power one of the largest job boards for careers at all levels in higher education institutions, medical centers, hospitals, research institutes, agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

“This project is a perfect fit with HERC’s mission as a nonprofit consortium to bring the most visibility to jobs posted by our members and help connect talented jobseekers with opportunities to work at member institutions,” said HERC Founder and Executive Director Nancy Aebersold. “Our philosophy is that diverse teams are more innovative and productive, and students are more successful when they have faculty/staff mentors to whom they can relate. Collaborating with Google Search is an exciting opportunity for us to broaden our reach and provide our members with access to a deeper pool of diverse talent.”

Institutional HERC members receive unlimited job postings, cultural competency training, outreach to diverse communities, dual-career tools, and support to ensure equity throughout the entire hiring process, improve retention rates and help foster a healthy work-life balance that cultivates innovation and excellence.

HERC member organizations have a shared goal of creating a future shaped by diversity of thought and perspectives by increasing diversity of faculty, staff and executives in higher education and related organizations.

Visitors to the HERC website can access 30,000+ currently open job opportunities posted by HERC’s 700+ member organizations nationwide.

A rich source for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) jobs, HERC’s job board includes a wide range of positions—administrative, staff, research, faculty, executive, and more—at higher education institutions, university-affiliated labs and hospitals, government agencies, arts and other organizations.
