Search Jobs in the Carolinas

HERC provides recruitment and retention resources developed by members for members. We understand that successful recruitment is more than posting positions on a job board and culling resumes. It is a purposeful, collaborative, and evolving process – one that we work to support every day.

We encourage you to review and share the following HERC member resources with any colleagues who play a role in selecting candidates and who may be involved in developing and implementing your campus diversity plan or dual-career program.

HERC Job Board

HERC’s job board (www.hercjobs.org) gives you direct access to the most talented and diverse professionals in higher ed. Your membership includes unlimited job postings on our website and access to our CV/resume database. We also include your enhanced institutional profile for free so that you can share your commitment to diversity and dual-career couples with potential candidates. We provide multiple job-posting options, which your regional director will review with you.

Enhanced Member Profile

The HERC Enhanced Member Profile allows you to better showcase your institution to potential candidates by highlighting your institution’s distinctiveness. Professional Development

HERC provides a monthly webinar calendar on current diversity topics and institutional best practices for recruitment, retention, mentoring, community-building and more. These webinars qualify for SHRM and HRCI certification credits and are free to your entire campus community – senior administrators, staff, faculty, and anyone serving on search committees who can benefit from these learning opportunities.

Dual Career

HERC makes it easier to support dual-career couples by connecting you with dual-career programs and leaders from neighboring institutions, including dual-career search options on our website, and providing dual-career postcards you can include in your recruitment packets. As a new HERC member, your institution will be included on our “Campuses with Dual-Career Programs” webpage. We encourage you to share a link to www.hercjobs.org from your institution’s dual-career webpage. Ask your regional director about opportunities to connect with other dual-career professionals in your area.

OFCCP Compliance

HERC conducts national outreach to connect with exceptional and diverse jobseekers, including representation at diversity conferences across the country, to increase the visibility of member jobs among diverse candidates. The HERC outreach campaign is supported by member dues and thus member institutions may include it in their annual OFCCP compliance reports as part of good-faith efforts to reach minorities, veterans and professionals with disabilities. View our 2015-16 Outreach Campaign Look-Book to learn more about our outreach efforts on behalf of member institutions.

Discounts with Higher Education Vendors

HERC negotiates discounts with corporate and non-profit partners on behalf of our member institutions. Discounts may include reduced rates on other diversity job boards, advertising in diversity publications, and additional services for retaining your valued employees. View our 2017 Buyer’s Guide to view all of our partners and discounts.

Disability Inclusion Toolkit

In all employment settings, including higher education, a diverse workforce means more perspectives on how to confront challenges and achieve organizational success. Although the term “diversity” is typically used in reference to differences in race or ethnicity, it actually encompasses an infinite range of experiences—including disability. View our guide to our Disability Inclusion Toolkit.
